    You brought it up SP.
    The last two generations of Poker players is the most uneducated group of players of all time.
    The only game they know is Texas Holdem and the only place they play is where they pay a huge rake.Talk about backward or retarded.

    Previous generations not only knew all forms of Poker but also gambled on BackGammon,Bridge,Chess,Snooker and racing(all forms) etc.

    You are both right, except in Australia with our mostly British English language upbringing, the plural is actually the correct usage.

    American English considers group as singular. Reason being, group/groups. Which is the plural and which is singular?

    So depends on which English and context. But in British (Australia's adopted national language) English -

    The last two generations of Poker player is the most uneducated group of player of all time.
