    Default Gold Coast Jupiters

The poker room has just shrunk back to 2pm to 2 am everyday operating structure. Distinct absence of players (partial explanation: player boycott protest?). Plenty of idle $50 blackjack tables hour in/hour out though. With the free and low stake tournaments gone, at this rate the poker pit will be gone by the end of the year.

Big push on to get an extra 1000 pokies by management; the writing might be on the wall.

yeah it's pretty quiet there, wonder if Martin still running it or if he has moved on, he seemed to be keen on poker promotions but might be over flogging dead horses?

Martin is still around it seems. Poker is shrinking back as casinos scrutinize staff salaries versus the ever-smiling computer; be it a pokie, rapid roulette or a poker replicant.

I know who wins the battle.

Player number are dwindling in every casino from the latest heyday of a few years ago. I think Adelaide will be the first to go (2nd demise) over the next year or so and the smaller casinos will be forced to follow suit. In 3 years time you will only be playing poker in an Oz casino in Melbourne, Sydney or Perth (IMO of course).

Jupiter's hasn't even bothered keeping facebook page going so can't see anything ever happening there again......and to think they hosted the inaugural event of WPPT only couple months ago with about 100 or so punters at $3500 a pop, which Tristan Bain won.

It has all collapsed rapidly since the signs went up on 28th Apr saying 2pm-2am, Booremax. Seems half the regulars shuffle up to play at Treasury instead.

Is Treasury still opening at noon with 2/3 tables each day? Play until 3am plus?

Treasury opens at 10:30am I think, and stays open until at least 2am, 3am on fri/sat nights....

It is weird that WPPT got almost 100 runners, and now jupiters have cut back... The $30 tourny was full every week... The wednesday tourny was always 30+...

Twenty Twenty will hopefully be running a tournament every 2nd week starting in June... Possibly even 3 weeks of each month, with one game in Brisbane, and 2 on the Gold Coast.

Well I think if Treasury & GC Jupiters are owned in the same interests (Echo) then in a way they are duplicating the "poker service" by having 2 casino (an hour away from each other) doing the same thing.

Lots of unhappy staff at Jupiters. Further retrenchments in June and more on the way. Looking more like a big club day by day....don't think poker will survive much longer.

Better start getting ready to travel T20

I know a lot of the staff at Jupiters have been getting stuffed around for a long time... I can see the day when there won't be any poker at Jupiters...

We haven't finalised the Brisbane venue yet, all suggestions welcome!

    Go Queensland!!!
