Cash Games in Sydney

Hi,

I have recently started to take poker more seriously and visit The Star a couple of times a week. (And the plan is to increase it)

The rake is ridiculous, compared to online, I'm not sure if this is normal for casinos.

Is there anywhere else in Sydney that offers regular cash games at a reasonable rate.

Find a private game.Ask people,someone will know.
Australian casinos are killing the poker game with huge rake raping the players.
Avoid the casino games.Play Internet,Pub poker or find a private game.
Stop feeding the coffers of that crook Packer.

The thing is I would imagine these private games are much tougher than the casino.

The idea was after playing online and doing well that there is money to be made at the casino becuase it's a softer game.

Even though casinos don't make maoney off poker, you would think they would show some class and have poker at a fair rate because its such a game of skill and of its great gambling history.

Hi,

I play on-line poker frequently and well. I have decide to venture out into live cash games and have visited The Star on a few occasions and want to make it a regular event.

However I am staggered by the rake!

I understand the casino doesn't make much money out of Poker but for an organisation that already makes plenty......please show a little class and cut the rake.

Poker is a true game of skill and should be treated with more respect.

Hi Madsaac,
Don't let the casinos kid you.They make great money from poker ,if they can maintain the number of players.
Unfortunately they don't understand the principle of diminishing returns, as the players burn out and are not replaced by new players with money.
Casinos are too greedy to sustain the growth of poker.
They are much like the Australian banks.
There is no limit to their greed.
