Just wondering what the story is with poker in Brisbane and the Gold Coast in the casino's. Ie. does it exist, at what casino's, what games do they offer, whats the standard of play like, whats the rake like. Thanks

Just 5/10 Holdem at the moment, with 10/20 at the Treasury . The play is terrible, basically playing beginners. Its $1 per hand for both the 5/10 and 10/20.

apparently NL HE tourneys and ring games are in the pipelines for the Treasury, well so said one of the floor staff.

We can only hope so! I've played three times at Treasury now all after nights out in town. At capacity it is just too slow and too much of a wait for the hand that will win for you! It got down to 6 seater pretty early in the am and that was a nice pace of play. Speaking of treasury my mate won $7000 on the pokies last night. This is after winning $1700 at the Paddo last week. Not bad for a uni student earning 250 bucks a week!

There is certainly a lot of money to be made in pokies. I'm thinking about quitting my job and becoming a professional pokies player - does anyone know of any "How to Make a Million playing Pokies Machines" or "Pokies Machines for Dummies" kind of books? Do I need to alternate my bet sizes and line selections to 'trick' the machine? Or is it all the patting of the screen?I've seen people talking to pokies machines - can this really work? While I'm sure we all agree that the machines can hear us, I find it hard to believe they care. yoyo
