Default APA Adelaide has closed until further notice

APA Adelaide under directions has closed its branch.APA Adelaide will be working closely with other members of the Adelaide poker fraternity to fight the current charges its members face in the Adelaide Magistrates Court in Adelaide.A sad day for poker in Adelaide!!!However, the truth is out there.

That really sucks. I too have fond memories of playing at APA Adelaide and would like to wish them the best of luck in their fight and see them come back bigger and stronger than before. When they win this court case, the media should be all over it.

Yes Johnny it is a very sad day that both the APA and The Matchroom currently are unable to operate in Adelaide. However, both organisations will be cooperating closely to ensure that the people behind these ridiculous police raids will be brought to justice.I think there could be a few nervous individuals.

The Matchroom is very much still operating although at the moment we arent running any poker - i am confident that we will be in the near future The Matchroom is not cooperating or working closely with the APA and in fact does not have and never has had any formal working relationship with the APAThe Matchroom isnt interested in bringing anyone to justice although i think its fair to say that the proprietors of The Matchroom do think that the police raids both of the APA tournament last year and recently at The Matchroom are ridiculous i never went to a poorly run or bad game at the Adelaide APA so i too think its a sad day for poker in Adelaide

what exactly has caused the closure? has there been some change in legislation or is it just closed pending the outcome of the court case?

My apologies Phil, I meant to say I do not think the Matchroom is running any more poker tournaments. The APA has to date and will in the future assist its members defend the current charges in court.Given that you are acting for one of our members and if you require any assistance we are happy to help. Finally Bugsy, nobody in South Australia can run poker tournaments apart from the casino. You can try but the police have told us that they will raid them and close them down. In these circumstances there is no point in having an APA in Adelaide until the court case is finished.
