Identifiable/retrievable. I suggest ask the big blind does he know the cards he folded, then ask button if he knows the cards he held and if these are the 4 cards in the muck return the cards to the button player and deal it out. If both players are unable to recall their cards as there has been substantial action the button hand is dead and small blind wins.

Hey guys,Firstly the cards are in the muck. The cards are dead! (The dreams over, you aint getting those cards back!) There has been substantial action, (two or more players have acted on their hand), hence a misdeal is NOT an option. (Player 2 has a MONSTER!)So what is the most appropriate ruling? What is in the best interests of the game? (still maintaining the integrity aspect) Keep the answers coming. Would love to know what people think should happen? There is no clear cut ruling in this situation. Ozziep.s.The dealer was not sacked and is currently one of the best dealers in the Crown Poker Room.

I believe there's circumstances where a TD can over rule the (once the cards are mucked the hand is dead) depending how deep in the tournament this instance occurs. Imagine playing in the WSOP and because of a dealers mistake is costing you millions. Thats just not right. If the cards are identifiable the cards should be given back to the player and continue with the game. If by any chance the TD uses that rule and declares the hand dead, then it would be wise for player2 to offer an equal split between his and players1 winnings.Well, at least that's what I would have done.

If the tournament is using the TDA rules I am sorry Ozzie you are wrong. There is no such TDA rule that mucked cards are dead. Just because cards are in the muck doesn't mean it is ALL OVER.I qoute TDA RULE "#1 Floor people are to consider the best interest of the game and fairness as the top priority in the decision-making process. Unusual circumstances can, on occasion, dictate that the technical interpretation of the rules be ignored in the interest of fairness. The floorperson's decision is final.
