Not a fan of Will Ferrell. He seems to play the same character in every movie. The only movie of his I liked was Step Brothers.

I'm on the Inglourious Basterds bandwagon. That and The Hangover are the best movies of the year (obv for different reasons).

Ok I just got back from the movies.

I went and watched Inglorius Basterds and I didn't think that I would ever say this but Quentin Tarantino movies are over rated.

Pulp Fiction was gold, nothing else he has ever done has ever or will ever come close to this.

Are you guys honestly serious the way you are banging on about Inglorius Basterds.

Don't get me wrong I wouldn't say that it was a bad movie It had some epic scenes in it (all of "Chapter One- Once upon a time... In Nazi Occupied France" for example) and it had some great dialougue but overall it was insanely predictable and could probably afford to lose 30 minutes of running time without losing any of the effect.

I am slapping a 5 (out of 10) on it and regretting that I didn't watch Public Enemies. instead

I thought the characters in IB were quite brilliant. Especially Lander, I think he should (but probably won't) go down as one of the great movie villains. His disturbingly pleasant persona was unforgettable. Almost like a cartoon villain.

The last 10 minutes of the movie had my heart pumping. Without spoiling it, I'll also say that it was VERY surprising.

But I agree that it coulda been about 30 mins shorter without losing too much.

Please post about Public Enemies after you watch it. Haven't seen it myself but have heard good things.

Inglorious basterds is a great FILM as he achieves exactly what he wants and tells the story so well. Yes it is a little long but Tarantino is a master story teller and I didnt think it was predictable at all. Loved the villan brilliant performance.

Forgot to mention Star trek is also fantastic 9/10

    Basterds
    District 9
    Hangover and
Star Trek - best 4 movies this year

+1 for Star Trek. Not a trekky by any means and this was the first Star Trek movie I've ever seen, but thought it was awesome and had a great cast.

I'm on the fence about District 9 and leaning towards not liking it. Was definitely not what I expected and would not want to watch it again. The social commentary behind the storyline I thought was quite clever, but I would've preferred if it was just another Independence Day style movie hehe. Aliens come to Earth, we blow the fuck out of them.

I just watched Public Enemies and I enjoyed it.

It is set in the thirties and they really pull it off well giving you a clear insight into what the 30's were like for the classic 'cops and robbers'.

Johnny Depp fits into this role as well as all the other ones and it is quite fun. I thought this was better than IB but I wouldn't classify either of them as life changing movies.

Watch if you like Tommy Guns, old school Rolls Royces and Clark Gable
