Took way to long for someone to mention Peroni IMO

Also, no one mentioning Dos Equis for Nth America saddens me..

    What is your favourite:

    a) 'standard' local product? (AUS including NZ)
I find Carlton Draught the easiest to drink. I guess it helps that it is available everywhere

    b) 'premium' local product? (AUS including NZ)
Maybe a little bias.. but.. Steinlager Pure..no preservatives or additives - u know the stuff thats gives you headaches etc...

    c) 'european' product?
    Paulaner - Germany

    d) 'UK' product?
what? .. maybe Smithwicks... a red ale from Kilkenny or Guinness straight from the taps at the brewery - nowhere else though

    e) american/mexican product?
the worm... since these guys stole budweiser from the czechs who now have to call their beer budva.. I dont have a lot of respect for any of their beers..and Millers tastes like water.

And finally the beer you that pwns all.....
Ive always had a spot for an Elephnat beer by Carlsberg. Knowing that Im drinking one of the most potent beers around, I will always buy one if its on the shelf...

any other catergories I should have added?
    Cheers,

I'm drinking my beer tonight poured from a growler, which is a 2 litre refillable glass flagon. You buy the growler and have it filled from a keg at the bottleshop.

    Uploaded with ImageShack.us

So you get fresh tap-beer to take-away, and each week the retailer gets a new beer for you to try. I got mine from McCoppins in Fitzroy. It's the Robust Porter from Bridge Road Brewery in Beechworth, and it's going down a treat. Other places I know of in Melbourne that do growlers are Slow Beer in Hawthorn, and Blackhearts and Sparrows Fitzroy store (the guy at their Brunswick store, which is my local, tells me they will be getting them soon).

    Well worth a try imo.
