Car stereo

Just got a new (used) car and want to make an upgrade from the standard Ford CD player/tuner to a stereo with iPod connection.

Not looking to pimp it out with balla speakers/subs etc., just want something that enables me to connect the iPod, in addition to CD/tuner capabilities.

What should I be looking at paying (inc installation), what brands, and where should I be getting it from?

Recently done an Install of a Sony head unit in my sisters CRV for the same reason, think we paid like $240 supply and install, and they ran a long i-pod cable which is conceled in her glove box from the back of the unit aswell as having the AUX plug in the front of the unit.
