Default Your Top 3 Influential Sources?

I originally just blogged the below but I thought fuck it.
Might get a thread out of it.

I am always on the hunt for exciting subject matter worthy of devour
eg. music, books, journal, documentaries, life experiences

    anyway ..

You are what you eat and humans are a product of their environment ... etc etc

So, Who inspires you? Who has changed you? Who has helped shape you as a person?

Firstly, when I was 5 years old I found soccer and every youngster had their favourite teams and players. I played 10 years of representitive soccer as a youngster and I can still remember where I found the original motivation. I hired this random 'Top 100 goals' VHS where the 'West Germans' mainly Jurgen Klinsmann and Lothar Matthaus featured heavily. Just the fantasy of playing like them gave me this superhuman buzz as a kid. Shaped my entire childhood and definitely defined me as the competitive, sports mad human I am.

Secondly, As a 13y.o kid I found $250 in the sand on a Gold Coast beach. Call it divine intervention but I was somehow seduced into purchasing the entire Pantera and Metallica catalogues while also being lured into buying my first bag of sticky green. So between the age of 13 and 17 while being publically educated, the devil managed to fuse me together with my yellow Sony walkman and a constant supply of green where I lived and loved life smoking myself stupid to a Heavy Metal soundtrack. A classic example of why people end up with anger issues!

Lastly, probably my biggest influence ...
A few of my oldest friends including me got involved with heavy party drug use just out of high school to our late teens/early twenties.
Ectasy, Speed, Cocaine, Ice, Fantasy, LSD. Some of us moderated. Some of us went to the extremes.
Anyway ... Fight night ...Mundine vs Green. We decide on staying away from the pubs and purchase the PPV on Fox. We need to do a run for supplies so my mate (I'll just call him P) grabs the keys and we head out. We drive to get alcohol, get weed, get mood enhancers etc etc. My mate at this point is fine but I am aware he has been smoking a fair amount of ICE because I have been sharing the action. After running around for an hour or so getting the goods we pull back up in our driveway. He puts the car in park, pulls up the handbrake and switches off the ignition. It is at this point that my friend has one hell of a seizure. Eyes rolled back in his head, violent jerking, strange moaning sounds. I fucking freak out. What if he'd had a seizure whilst the vehicle was in motion. I have been smoking the same shit and my friend is unconscious beside me shaking furiously. So I beep the horn frantically which alerts the crew inside. The boys burst out the front and we drag him into the passenger seat. I rush P to the Hospital in Southport as we are only a few blocks away. I drive straight up the emergency ambulance driveway, jump out like a madman and start ranting for a doctor. It is at this point that I see P crawling from the passanger side into the drivers side. He begins to yell at me to get him the fuck out of there. He starts tearing up about 'authorities getting him' so I persuade him to jump back into the passenger side and we speed off. That was nearly 6 years ago and that scenario scared me away from chemicals for life. I never touched the shit again.

Interesting idea for a thread, just wanted to say... doctor-patient confidentiality. Doesn't everyone know doctors are not required to report illegal drug use to the police?

These 3 people have given me inspiration in their different ways and from their different backgrounds to push me further to achieve everything I can. I can only thank one of them on this site, so Benn; I truly thank you my friend.

    1. Myself.

    2. F. Scott Fitzgerald / HST (dead heat, and at the same time in my life)

    3. John le Carre.

Firstly, when I was 5 years old I found....
...out that I was gifted and already brighter than my cult-brainwashed parents (CoG). The sheer terror of the realisation at that age, that far too much responsibility lay upon my shoulders, shaped my life for next two decades of terrified attempts to deny my intelligence, out of a gutless fear (retardedly misplaced) of the responsibilities I imagined were choking the life of me. Despite the very common signs that I was anything but common, I spent the better part of two decades almost frantically trying to be...common. To play down the inevitable expectations, to waste my gifts, and - I guess - avoid the imagined stifling responsibilities which might be theoretically associated with being a gifted child - but who gives a rats really. Only my idiotic fears, it would seem...in hindsight.

Secondly, As a 13y.o kid I found $250 in the sand on a Gold Coast beach
As an 11 yr old kid I found about $800 in a wallet in a public phone booth left there by the donk who made us wait 20 min to use the phone. My Christian father was not all that impressed at my insistence in returning it. I set off at breakneck speed and caught up with the guy maybe 2 km or more down the street. I didn't do it for the reward, that would be illogical. But I was obviously aware that simple decency should have led him to be overwhelmed with gratitude, to be expressed in a non-cheap / genuine format.

Winded, gasping for air, I handed the guy his wallet. Confused, he accepted it, opened it, counted the $800 to make sure it was still there, and said "Ta" if if I'd just "blessed him" after he sneezed, and kicked on along his merry way.

It was a long walk back, during which I spent a great deal of time formulating in my mind just how exactly one was supposed to comprehend / react to such a generic display of human nature. And it's a testament to my idiocy that I didn't actually realise that it was generic, and I idiotically swore all kinds of oaths to myself that I would never become such a depraved, ungrateful devil as this rare human was. I really misread that (and the next 200 similar examples) badly, in hindsight.

To cover the experiences that shaped my construct of consciousness (for the better or worse), would require a novel or two of (probably moderately interesting to fascinating) copy. But eh...

Yes, our experiences in life shape our perceptions - 100% the only sole contributing factor which can possibly influence our perceived constructs. And of course, this is why there is endless friction and conflict. No two people see the same thing, wearing (as they are) the glasses tilted uniquely by their individual mass of experiences and, perhaps more importantly, the limitations of the domino effect under which they experienced every moment of their lives, and then processed (or failed to, or failed to rationally process) every single moment of their self-centred, self-obsessed existences, up until the present.

Lastly, probably my biggest influence ...
A few of my oldest friends including me got involved with heavy party drug use just out of high school to our late teens/early twenties.
Ectasy, Speed, Cocaine, Ice, Fantasy, LSD.
Nonsense. Absolute, utter nonsense. Cocaine, perhaps. LSD, okay. The other 3? Provable lies, and you should be ashamed for having been so stupid as to be guilty of being tricked into making such vile and stupid claims accidentally.

I don't think there has been a single recorded death, throughout the entire history of mankind, from either meth-amphetamine, methylene-dioxy-meth-amphetamine, or gamma-Hydroxybutyric acid. I'm not 100% on GHB. But you can bet your laffy taffy I'm correct about the other two.

NO RECORDED DEATHS. THIS IS FACT. And you should be disgusted with yourself for failing to realise you were scammed, very stupidly in fact. And you should be furious at having been made to appear like a boob. And for being the unwitting victim of one of the most ridiculous lies ever invented (perhaps only one is more ridiculous; the lie that says "oh you thought this game was important? no no no, this is just a warmup, for the afterlife! you should give me your money and your children, because it's the game after you die that matters").

And you should be furious and embarrassed for having been manipulated and exploited and then tricked into contributing towards the propagation of the greatest scandal of corruption / genocide in human history. It's worse than the Holocaust. And right now, you're wearing a brown shirt my friend.

I have been smoking the same shit and my friend is unconscious beside me shaking furiously....

That was nearly 6 years ago and that scenario scared me away from chemicals for life. I never touched the shit again.
The logic there is so ridiculously stupid, you should be livid at yourself for it. Your actions were akin to catching a minor, curable, painless STI during unprotected sex with a Russian street prostitute...and then swearing off girls for the next 6 years of your life.

And my analogy there is so fucking perfect, it's almost hovering above the screen. It's so immaculate / holy. It's really very beautiful, how it glows...

Rats. The glow is fading. Swearing off girls for 6 years would be infinitely more logical than your actions.

There are far more stupid things in that story than the terror of morons who are disorientated / high, in forgetting to remember there are confidentiality laws which usually protect them from being a willing party to their own exploitation or death. But yes, you would think that it would be common knowledge by now...

...you'd be very very wrong, in my experience. People are far more stupid than people credit them as capable of behaving.

After all, we're talking about being killed by government policies, which many believe amount to Prohibition.

This is nonsense, of course. Prohibition isn't killing people. Preventing access to HARMLESS MEDICINES are killing people. Ensuring access to POISONOUS ADDICTIVE FAKE SUBSTITUTES - in order to generate those 3 fine human goals, the only goals human aim for - that shit is killing people. Nothing is Prohibited, except Truth perhaps.

But Truth is a small price to pay. Your life is a small price to pay, for that matter. Don't be sore about it. You're a fucking slave. And they have 3 fine goals, help them with acquisition you fucking slave.

    S....?

    M....?

    P.....?

Good fucking slave. Now go die in peace like a good BOY.

And you're reading the wrong books, Usual.

And the wrong forums, as well. I have no idea who Benn Skender is, but he's listed on a podium with Paul Keating and Lebron James; poor fellow. He should be outraged and incensed.

A forum where that reply is given in response to your question, and is not torn to shreds for the benefit of the reply-giver and reply-reader/s, is simply a forum which cannot possibly do anything but rot your brain slowly...subversively. It's the cancer of society, don't fight it...there now, that's a good BOY. Go to sleep now, there there, I know it hurts, I know. But all your pain will soon be washed away...
