    Default PokerNetwork Premier League Poker

Last month I spoke to thehux (FTP) and Admin (pokernetwork) about the possibilities of running an official Pokernetwork Premier league poker series. They were interested and excited about the possibilities of seeing this being run. It has taken me a while to post a thread on this as I have had other matters to deal with (the floods).

After watching the series on tv over the last few seasons and being involved in the last series Joey_Knish ran I thought about trying this with fellow Pokernetworkers.

There seems to be a fair bit of banter/sledging etc etc amongst some members here so I thought this would be a great way to have some fun and give bragging rights to the winner.

For now I would like to see is who is interested in taking part and I would really like to see some of the more popular/contraversial players get involved. So in no order and not labeling players I would love to see Risk, Strongplay, Grunter, Swoop, Seabeast, Dong, Cntcrusher, rikwaa etc etc you know who you are. Also want to see the average donk like myself, knightfan (haha), Joey etctetc give it a bash.

The setup for the series will be on Fulltilt, the rounds will all be a Sng of 8-9 players (depends on final numbers) each player will play 6-7 rounds so depending on numbers (12-16-20) will determine how many rounds in total there will be, so like the show not everyone will play every game but will play everyone equally. Just like in the tv league points awarded on finishing pos in each SnG then top 6-8 make FT to play for prizepool. (again depends on total entries etc to determine how many make the FT)

Of course we need to make it worthwhile for people to play, but not out of reach for the average player to join in. So I thought there will be an initial buyin of $300 per player to generate a final table prize pool of $3600 for 12 players in the league or maybe up to $6000 for 20 players. that $300pp is split/paid out to the final table players.

So its $300 to enter (but will listen to suggestions)
$30 to play each of your sit and goes (6-7 means $180-$210)
all up about $500 per person to play.
Running mid Feb (depends on live schedules)

I know there are last longers etc or other bets you guys have around this $ mark this is why I chose this amount to play for. I guess there will be lots of questions people will ask like who holds the initial buyins etc. Well since I am known to only a few of you, well it wont be me, this is why I need a few big names involved as I am sure many of you will trust Risk, Grunter, S-Play etc to hold this money. I will of course answer all questions and work things out with you.

Please everyone this is an idea that Admin and thehux were happy to look at helping to run/promote/have their name associated with etc, so lets take it seriously, get involved have some fun with it.

    Thanks

Will the 6-7 sngs be played simultaneously?

Thret to answer your question my initial thoughts were to either try and run this over EITHER a few days where a weekend was included or to have one round a day/night for about 2 weeks. Players will only play 1 Sng at a time so they can concentrate on getting points etc but if numbers are there then there maybe multiple Sngs running at the same time but you will only be playing in 1 of them. That means players ABCDEFGHI play in one Sng while in the other Sng players JKLMNOPQR play. Again its depends on numbers.

At the moment for value I was thinking that each SnG would be $30 buyin, 5k start, so for 9 players could be 2hrs to run maybe? This should give plenty of play each round.

In the end it will come down to particitpation and some may say its too long or too quick a series so we all need to try and work a suitable schedule so we can get players like yourself involved.

As far as working out the rounds as in who plays who and when, well I have experience in running a round robin fantasy rugby league comp, just like the NRL draw and finals series, and I have done that for 11 years with on average 20 teams per year, so that wont be too hard to work out. Its more of who can we get to play.

Just curious Thret do you feel playing multiple Sngs at 1 time is a better way to have the league or is it the buyin/start stack or both.

I am just trying to get something going but I just felt multitabling would defeat the purpose of a league and it may as well be ran like 50 180 man games ??

Ah, I am not sure what is best for a league as I was only considering the setup wrt myself and I do not represent the majority. I have that luxury as I am not organising it.

Not really interested as im not a "controversial" player.

Would be more interested in another satelite series though.

    Joey_Knish FTW!
