Twas bizzaro world in the EPL last night:
    - 41 goals in 8 games
    - Arsenal go 4-0 up in 26 minutes and still only manage to get a point against Newcastle
    - Eight goals in the Everton-Blackpool game and seven in the Wigan-Blackburn game
    - Man Utd getting beat for the first time in 29 EPL matches by bottom placed Wolves

The interest tonight is in Chelsea vs Liverpool, featuring Chelsea's new acquisition Fernando Torres, who is likely to play his first match for them against his former club.

Chelsea are $1.53 to win, Torres $1.90 to score at any time and $4.33 to score first. Now there is a possibility Torres might only come off the bench, so wait for team news before plonking anything on him. If you want first goalscorer relative value, perhaps Malouda at $8, Suarez at $8.50 might be the go.

Reading up on a couple of interesting markets for the EPL. The market for bottom place is indeed a good one, and value might be able to be found:

    Wigan $3.40 (26 pts, 26 played)
    West Ham $4.00 (24 pts, 26 played)
    Wolves $5.25 (24 pts, 25 played)
    Blackpool $6.00 (28 pts, 25 played)
    West Brom $7.50 (26 pts, 25 played)
    Birmingham $11.00 (27 pts, 24 played)

Blackpool are dropping like flies, and their draw is not that kind - a finish at Old Trafford too. Would be a shame if they got relegated, let alone finish last, but they need to turn things around (3 points out 24). Would prefer to bet on the Hammers rather than Wigan.

Apart from the Aboriginal All Stars sucking the big one, i'm having a decent night on the punt. Going to back City+0.75 in the Manchester derby. Got it at $1.82.

HOF strike from Wayne Rooney - you don't often see a quality scissors kick.

I've taken the following multi at around the 32-1 mark for interest purposes:

    Liverpool-Arsenal-Birmingham-Villa-WBA/West Ham draw

Birmingham are on a five match undefeated streak, Newcastle struggling to score goals. Birmingham to make it three wins in a row, at home tonight against Newcastle paying $2.67.

    Fuck me, Birmingham are useless...

Multiaments for games about to start: Man City/Arsenal/Fulham/Bolton-Villa draw/Newcastle-Everton draw at about 32-1; for some shits and giggles.

Blackpool now into $2.60, and the $6 I took is starting to look closer to a reality. West Ham $3.50, Wigan $4 and Wolves $5.

Just read on the Manchester United website that their reserve team player of the year is one Oliver Gill.....eh eh eh.

Now, Man Utd wrapped up their 19th Divison 1/EPL title last weekend, but there is big interest in the bottom end of the table.

What is known is that West Ham are goneski, and will finish last. Beyond that, we've got 5 teams trying to avoid the remaining two relegation spots.

    Pos Team Pts GD
    15 Blackburn 40 -14
    16 Wolves 40 -19
    17 Birmingham 39 -20
    ---------------------
    18 Blackpool 39 -21
    19 Wigan 39 -22
    20 West Ham (GAWWWWWWWWNE)

Markets for the main matches affecting the relegation fight:
    Man Utd $1.57 Blackpool $5.50 Draw $4.00
    Spurs $1.50 Birmingham $6.25 Draw $4.10
    Wolves $2.10 Blackburn $3.70 Draw $3.10
    Stoke $2.80 Wigan $2.30 Draw $3.60

Amazingly enough Wigan are hugely fancied to beat Stoke away and probably seal their survival. Stoke doesn't have anything left to play for, safe for another season, and defeated in the FA Cup final, so Wigan looks a good bet - but not at the $2.30 mark.

Blackpool HAS to get a result, but away to Man Utd, even assuming they play a second string side, is going to be tough.

A draw between Spurs and Birmingham at the $4.10 looks reasonable - Spurs limping towards the finish line, Birmingham been awful the last couple of months, but surely the prospect of relegation will make them up their game.

Also like Blackburn to seal their survival with a win at Wolves, whose record against the top teams this season has been great; but they've been horrible against their fellow strugglers all year.
