These are the numbers im working off (in order)...obv cut it down according to track cond on the day and price's i find for each horse.

    3-19-8-4-24-23-1-22

Soyouthink is the best horse we will see for along time if he runs and wins the cup! What alot of punters dont know is that this horse won is first cox plate as a 2 yr old ( ok officially he was 3 but he was a dec foal and the race is in oct) officially making him a FREAK. I have no doubts he can win this race but at $3.50 no thanks, at $6 you could re asses.

Im looking at multiples and will play the tri's and first 4 very hard with the above numbers. The tri and quinella pools are filled with dead money every mel cup.

This year i like two roughie's the 19 holberg, and the 24 maluckyday

Anyway interested in hearing whats everyone selections?....

Ive backed nearly every runner on betfair, been doing it for a few months, but all things being equal can't see how they beat So You Think.

Maluckyday very impressive yesterday - Holberg, Americain can probably both win, and most of the other internationals are horribly good odds. Mr Medici should be 20 at best and will go around 50+.

Not really at the moment but we are obviously working at the Call of the Card tomorrow and that is where I'd expect there will be some money for it. Pretty highly regarded as far as i know.

I haven't done full form for the race just yet, but there are several thoughts at the forefront of my thinking at the moment:

    - The best form reference for the Melbourne Cup is the Caulfield Cup
    - The track will be rain affected, as it was for Caulfield Cup day
    - So You Think appears to be a freak of nature, and whilst I won't be backing it at the odds (I'll back against it), it is a must include for all multiples
    - At least one, if not two, internationals, will be in the top 5

Thus, at this point, the selections are:
    3-15-11-8-1-13-20-12
This forum is the scapegoat for the whole damn machine. Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeee-it!

I still like Linton, especially after it's run Saturday.

I will put it in my multiples and back it each way. I like Americain too. Watched it at the Geel Cup, and that's usually a good form for the MC, with bauer getting it's place last year, and I think it's been the same the last few years. Leica jeune comes to memory, as does Zazzman

+1 - Problem is that he was $81 before Saturday's run and is shortening by the hour - currently into $8.50 which is outright 2nd fav. Definitely going in all my multiples.
