Default Glam Slam Of Darts Betting

Damn, can't believe I missed the start of the Grand Slam of Darts championship this morning of Fox Sports.

First set of matches were completed, and we got ourselves some upsets:
Brendan Dolan beaten by Wayne Jones
Raymond van Barneveld beaten by Ian White (who?)
Gary Anderson beaten by Nigel Heydon, and
Terry Jenkins beaten by Justin Pipe

This tournament brings together the best players of the PDC and BDO organisations, and is in a group format; so the above defeats do not necessarily mean elimination; but they will all need to turn things around quickly.

Tonight's group matches (group is in brackets):
    Paul Nicholson $1.30 v Barrie Bates $3.35 (F)
    Wes Newton $1.30 v Magnus Caris $3.35 (F)
    Mark Webster $1.30 v Arron Monk $3.35 (G)
Vincent van der Voort $1.75 v Co Stompe $2.00 (H)
    Mervyn King $1.60 v Steve Beaton $2.25 (E)
    Phil Taylor $1.05 v James Hubbard $9.00 (E)
    Adrian Lewis $1.30 v Martin Phillips $3.35 (H)
    Jan Dekker $2.45 v John Part $1.50 (G)

The van der Voort vs Stompe match should be a beauty!

Might take this multi: Netwon/Webster/Beaton/Taylor/Part at $5.99 on Sportingbet (should be able to get a bit better on Betfair).

I would have thought that was obvious.

Quite a talent you have for spotting such. Seldom an UnEducaterd post without a keen observation.

( losing day for Strong Play...what with the 12k average outlay to try be like Monster_Dong and Andy McLeod and an up and cumming moffo47, how can SP compete week in week out and be in front ? )

Hope you get square on the darts, bro....that market looks juicier than Queen Bee after 4 pots of lager.

This at least got up, though Newton did his best early to get rolled.

Defending champ Scott Waites was knocked out after losing his 2nd straight match; as was Raymond van Barneveld, beaten comfortably by Ted Hankey.

Matches tonight on the Sportingbet market:
Magnus Caris $1.53 vs Barrie Barnes $2.40
Mervyn King $1.15 vs Steve Hubbard $5.00
Aaron Monk $1.62 vs Jan Dekker $2.20
Vincent van der Voort $1.70 vs Martin Phillips $2.08
Mark Webster $1.70 vs John Part $2.08
Phil Taylor $1.15 vs Steve Beaton $5.00
Paul Nicholson $1.80 vs Wes Newton $1.95
Adrian Lewis $1.45 vs Co Stompe $2.65

The Nicholson vs Newton, Webster vs Part and Lewis vs Stompe look the highlights in this sesson.

For some reason Sportingbet doesn't offer prices for the 2nd set of matches; bah. I'm planning on taking Part/Taylor/Nicholson/Caris at the $6.59 mark. Nicholson was ultra impressive in his whitewash this morning; reports are he has prepared for a deep run in this. Webster struggled to beat Monk, and he's been hit or miss for quite a while, happy to take the risk against him. Taylor should in comfortably, and whilst Caris was beaten this morning, he was throwing pretty well. May throw in Lewis to boot.
