    Thumbs up Selling 4x $24+2 GTD's - ($59k GTD Total)

    Hey,

First time advertising on here, and first time selling an event on CMU. Here's brief rundown of what I'm doing. All times listed here are Friday AEST.

    17:00 $24+2 NL $30,000GTD - 3000 starting stacks with 10 minute levels.**
    18:15 $24+2 NL $8,000GTD - 5000 starting stack with 1 minute levels.
    20:00 $24+2 NL $12,000GTD - 3000k starting stack with 10 minute levels.
    22:00 $24+2 NL $9,000GTD - 3000k starting stack with 10 minute levels.

** This is a multi entry, KO event. I will be buying in up to the limit of 4 entries. All KO's will be credited to the event as winnings and paid out accordingly.

For more information - please visit my CMU event page by clicking here.

Haven't played tourney's on Tilt for a few years, until just recently. On my first week back on the scene, I pulled 2/360 odd in one of these for $1440. Hope to run good again Friday night.

    Here's my OPR.

For more info, feel free to contact me via email at simon.simon@internode.on.net

    Thanks!
    Simon

You have played 22 tournaments on your OPR; do you have any stats that actually mean anything? It would help your thread a lot. 22 tournaments is not a meaningful sample. If you don't play online do you have a link to your live results?

You are selling at 1.25 markup. Unless you have a proven track record as a winning player, this is not reasonable. If you have a proven track record as a winning player, you should inform us of this with some evidence. Also references from anyone who posts here or is a well known figure in the poker community would help

Also 59k GTD total is a very strange thing to post in your thread title. Just for what it's worth.

This post is intended as helpful feedback not criticism, gl

Here is an example of a staking thread of mine if you want to look over what most people post in their original post when selling action - note the references, link to opr/sharkscope/live results, etc

Nope. As stated I haven't played much poker at all lately. I'm not expecting to sell much % of this, but anything I can get to offset my liability is a bonus. I'm more getting into CMU to back players than to run myself, but I'd like to give it a go once so I understand the process.

Ah ok. I wasn't aware of a standard markup value for a newbie, or if such a thing shouldn't be done. I did ask a member of CMU who said anything under 110 is cheap, and that 150+ is unreasonable. I opted to go with 125 as it seemed about middle of the range, I'll know for next time.

haha! I thought it was creative. Just added up all the GTD's, so ppl know there'll be 59k worth of gtd prizes across the 5 tournaments.

I do appreciate this, and the format of your helpfulness. Similar replies from members at pocketfives.com leave me just wanting to never return.

    Thanks, I'll check it out.

Hopefully I run good in these GTD's and can show some more results. Or, I can play some more over the next few months and generate a good OPR. (or both!).

Thanks for feedback, it's taken on board.

I do it for friends here and there. Nothing formal. There are better players out there if you're going to pay for coaching, although not many competent australian coaches worth paying for afaik

I'll check your game out sometime when im not busy and give you some pointers if you like, PM me your skype etc if you want

One thing you could do is post your hand histories from the tournament you won so that potential investors can decide for themselves if you're good or not until you have some results, theyre easy to convert to a text file format

Ok. Just got home from Melb so I'll send you my Skype when I get home. But yeah, I've never really had anyone to get coaching from before, or really looked into it.

With the HH posting thing, do you mean entire tournaments or just particular hands??

Either way. You need to show potential backers something to prove you're not a random losing player though if you intend to sell action to anything above microstakes tourneys.
