Rainer Quel raised the pot from the button and Lee Nelson made the call from the big blind.

They took a flop of {2-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{9-Spades} and Nelson checked to Quel who moved all in. Nelson made a quick call.

Quel: {A-Clubs}{A-Hearts}{K-Clubs}{3-Spades}
Nelson: {10-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{A-Spades}{3-Diamonds}

Quel held aces once again but this time he'd run into Nelson's two pair. The turn was the {4-Clubs} and river the {K-Diamonds} and finally we have crowned a champion in Lee "Final Table" Nelson.

Another courageous tournament by Rainer Quel as he adds another runner-up finish to his record after finishing runner-up to Mel Judah in the Omaha Hi/Lo event earlier in the series. He'll collect $24,600 for another fine result.

In a limped pot the players saw a flop of {J-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}. Lee Nelson fired out 50,000 and Rainer Quel made the call. The turn was the {4-Spades} and Nelson bet again for 128,000.

Quel looked frustrated as he pondered before forcefully folding {K-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} face up! A pair with open-ended straight draw wasn't enough for Quel as he continues to advertise his tight play. Nelson takes another pot to get back over 300,000 chips.

Quel Folds Aces

Rainer Quel raised the pot on the button and Lee Nelson called in the big blind.

The flop landed {6-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{3-Clubs} and Nelson moved two stacks of yellow chips into the middle to bet full pot. Quel immediately flashed {A-Diamonds}{A-Spades} and mucked his cards. Quel just does not want to play big pots without the nuts as Nelson raked in the pot with a wry grin.

Quel Makes Another Big Laydown

Posted 2009-01-23 GMT+12
Rainer Quel limped the button before Lee Nelson raised the pot. Quel made the call.

The flop landed {4-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} and Lee Nelson bet the pot for 144,000, leaving himself only 10,000 behind. Quel stared at his cards and deliberated for several minutes.

Eventually he flashed {7-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} for two pair and mucked his cards. Quel continues to advertise his tight image as Nelson could only flash one card, the {10-Clubs} as he raked in the pot.

Quel Takes One

Posted 2009-01-23 GMT+12
Lee Nelson limped from the button before Rainer Quel raised the pot in the big blind. Nelson quickly called.

The flop landed {3-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds} and Quel confidently bet the pot and Nelson tossed his cards straight into the muck.

These two are trading blows with the lead constantly swapping back and forth. The blinds are sneaking up, with every pot an important one. With this pot Quel is now back in front.
