Round and Round We Go

Posted 2009-01-23 GMT+12
Chips are being passed around and around, with most recent pots being taken down preflop or with a bet on the flop.

Michael Zowie is again under pressure after losing a chunk to Michael Binger, to leave himself down to around 40,000 chips.

Zowie Doubles

Posted 2009-01-23 GMT+12
After Michel Binger raised to 8,000 from the button and Michael Zowie called from the small blind, they saw a flop of {4-Clubs}{4-Spades}{10-Clubs}.

Zowie checked to Binger who fired 12,000. Zowie re-checked his cards before moving all in for another 18,000. Binger knew he was in trouble but made a crying call.

Zowie: {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{6-Diamonds}
Binger: {10-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}

Zowie flopped the full house and Binger was in trouble. The turn brought the {9-Spades} and river the {A-Spades}. Zowie is back to around 80,000.

Zowie All In, but Binger Folds

Posted 2009-01-23 GMT+12
Michael Binger limped from the small blind before Michael Zowie raised an additional 5,000 from the big blind. Binger tossed out a yellow chip to make the call.

The flop was {5-Spades}{3-Spades}{Q-Spades} and both players checked. The turn brought the {9-Clubs} and Binger led for 12,000. Zowie made the call.

The river landed the {2-Diamonds} and Binger checked to Zowie who moved all in for about 26,000. Binger sighed and tossed his cards into the muck as Zowie stays alive.

Field Extends Lead

Posted 2009-01-23 GMT+12
Michael Zowie came in raising from the button to 7,000 and Josh Field made the call in the small blind. The action was then with Michael Binger who declared "Raise the pot!" Zowie folded but Field deliberated before making the call.

The flop was {6-Hearts}{K-Spades}{8-Hearts} and Field led out with a pot-sized bet. Binger quickly folded and Field takes down a nice pot.

With that pot, Field is up to over 220,000 chips.

Zowie Recovers

Posted 2009-01-23 GMT+12
Since the break Michael Zowie has lost a couple of small pots to Michael Binger, but just recovered some chips in a clash with Josh Field.

Field raised the pot from the button and Zowie made the call in the big blind.

They saw a flop of {10-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} and both players checked. The turn brought the {5-Spades} and Zowie led out for 12,000. Field made the call.

The river was the {10-Hearts} and both players checked it down. Zowie flipped {K-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} for the straight to take the pot. He's back up to 65,000 but still on the short stack.

Play Resumes

Posted 2009-01-23 GMT+12
After an extended break for some lengthy discussions involving pens, paper, calculators and advanced mathematical theorems beyond my comprehension at 4 a.m, the players seemed to have been unable to reach any concensus and have returned to play it out.
