Field Pressures Pesek

Posted 2009-01-23 GMT+12
Michael Pesek raised to 3,400 from under the gun with Josh Field and Jason Gray making the call in position.

They saw a flop of {5-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{6-Spades} and Pesek deliberated and fired 6,500. Field raised to 14,500 as Gray and Pesek both folded.

Field is up to around 120,000 chips.

David Ewing has doubled through Michael Binger once again. The last chips were all in on a flop of {9-Spades}{3-Clubs}{6-Hearts}.

Binger held {9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{10-Spades}{10-Diamonds} for a set as Ewing looked to be in trouble with his {A-Spades}{A-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{8-Spades}.

However the turn was the {Q-Diamonds} and river the {7-Diamonds} to give Ewing the gutshot straight on the river to stay alive! Incredibly, he's now up to 21,500 with his head well above water now.

Ewing Doubles through Binger

David Ewing raised the pot before Michael Binger re-potted and isolated the short stack. Ewing committed his last chips with a call.

Ewing: {A-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}
Binger: {A-Hearts}{K-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{J-Spades}

The board ran out {9-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{8-Spades}{6-Spades}{5-Hearts} and Ewing makes a straight on the river to double up. He's now up to 15,500 chips.

Ewing Survives with a Chop

Posted 2009-01-23 GMT+12
David Ewing was all in preflop for around 7,000 and chip leader Michael Binger made the call.

Ewing: {A-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{5-Hearts}
Binger: {A-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}

The board ran out {10-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}{K-Spades}{J-Clubs}{7-Hearts} and both players make a broadway straight. Chop it up!

Chino Rheem
On a flop of {Q-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{9-Clubs} Chino Rheem fired out a pot-sized bet of 10,200 before Michael Binger re-potted. The table folded and Rheem decided this is it as he plonked his remaining chips into the middle. Binger made the call.

Rheem: {10-Spades}{9-Hearts}{A-Clubs}{6-Clubs}
Binger: {K-Spades}{J-Clubs}{8-Spades}{A-Diamonds}

"Two pair and nut flush draw" said Rheem however Binger had flopped the nut straight.

The turn was the {5-Diamonds} and river the {7-Hearts} and Rheem is sent to the rail in 7th place for AU$15,480, as Binger jumps to the chip lead with 126,000.

Tony G Bubbles
On a flop of {J-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{7-Clubs} Tony G committed his last chips into the middle against Michael Binger.

Guoga: {10-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}{J-Hearts}
Binger: {Q-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{K-Spades}{9-Diamonds}

Both players tabled big wraps as Guoga's two pair held the lead. However the {Q-Diamonds} hit the turn to give Binger the lead with a king-high straight. The river was the {3-Clubs} and Guoga bubbles as our final table is set.

The players are now taking a fifteen-minute break as they do a chip change-over to the "major tournament" style of chips and relocate to the feature table in front of the rail.

We'll have the updated chip counts for you shortly.
