Event 16 is in the books. It took two days to get to this point, but we're here. 248 players hit the felt Thursday in hopes of capturing the title, money, and the ring. Most would fall short however and not make it back for the second day.

Play stopped at 18 players on Thursday and they reconvened back in the Crown Poker Room on Friday at 4 p.m. local time.

Vincent Van Der Fluit went up against Omar Silajdija for the title. The heads-up match went back and forth for a little while but Van Der Fluit would come out on top.

The PokerNews Team is still rocking the live updates for a few more days here in Melbourne and don't forget to follow the Main Event when they play down to a winner tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. local time.
