Event 6: $1,100 H.O.R.S.E.
Day 1 completed
John Joannou, the 2010 Crown Aussie Millions Event #6 Champion! (AUD $27,300)
Congratulations to John Joannou, who overcame the field of 91 players to take home the title, the championship ring and of course, AUD $27,300 in prize money.
John Joannou managed to skillfully work his way to the top through a barrage of eliminations, which as a result saw only 15 players remaining at the dinner break.
The decision was then made by Crown staff to play the tournament out in one day - and play they did, with the event turning into a 15-hour marathon.
John Joannou has successfully proven his skills as an all-rounder and his win is thoroughly deserved - well done!
That just about does it here at the Crown Poker Room - assuming we can get enough sleep, we're off for a hack around the golf course tomorrow morning.
Never fear, we will be back in time to bring live reporting coverage of Event #7: $1,150 No Limit Hold'em with Rebuys, which starts at 12.30pm AEDST - be sure to join us then!
Note: Earlier we had reported John Joannou as Rabii Maatouk, we apologize for getting this wrong to both players.
