Queen High Good For Hansen

Posted 2012-07-11 GMT-6 by

We caught a small pot with Gus Hansen that didn't get him a ton of chips but provides an inside look into what makes him such a dynamic player. We caught the action on the river with the board reading {4-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{k-Clubs}{a-Hearts}. There was about 4,000 in the pot, and Hansen checked to his opponent on the button, who fired out 2,000. Hansen did his usual grimace face whenever he has any kind of tough decision, and eventually chucked the 2,000 into the middle.

His opponent could only muster up {j-Spades}{3-Clubs}, and Hansen rolled over {q-Diamonds}{10-Spades}. That's good enough for just queen high, but it was good enough to win here. Hansen is up to 74,000 after that pot.
