If playing in poker tournaments with giant prize pools excites you, then you should take a look at the bwin Grand Series of Poker series. The GSOP 5 will offer $2,500,000 in guaranteed money throughout a total of 15 tournaments.
The Grand Series of Poker kicks off on September 19th with a $190 + $10, $300,000 Guaranteed Hold’em event. September 20th and 21st will both offer $125,000 Guaranteed events where the buy-ins are $100 + $8 and $150 + $12. September 26th offers another $300,000 Guaranteed Hold’em tournament with a $190 + $10 buy-in. And the biggest tournament in GSOP 5 happens on October 3rd when a $500 + $25, $500,000 Guaranteed Hold’em tournament takes place.
Interestingly enough though, the $500k tourney isn’t even the championship since GSOP’s king will be crowned on October 10th in the Grand Slam Final. The buy-in for the Grand Slam Final is $5,000, but people can also enter this event through the following ways:
- Winning the GSOP leaderboard (2nd place to 100th place on the leaderboard will play for 3 more qualifying tickets)
- Winning one of the 15 GSOP events
- Qualifying through satellites
Speaking of satellites, players can qualify for GSOP 5 events now by signing up at bwin Poker and looking for satellites in the lobby. Both daily qualifiers and last chance qualifiers (qualify the day of an event) give players the opportunity to enter GSOP tournaments so all you need to do is play.
Even if you don’t like playing in satellites or can’t afford the buy-ins for the main GSOP tournaments, there will also be a Grand Series of Poker mini series. In GSOP Mini, the buy-ins will be less since they start at just $5 + $0.50, however, the prize pools will still be large since a total of $250,000 will be given away throughout this mini series.
