It's that time of year again, as punters from all around gather at the Crown Casino in Melbourne for the eighth installment of the Joe Hachem Deep Stack Series (JHDDS)!
The event continues to be one of the most popular tournament series on offer all around Australia, this due mainly to the fact that the JHDSS offers something for players of all bankrolls, with small side events starting from $50 leading up to the $550 Main Event played in the unique repechage format .
The latest installment of the JHDSS is set to kick off on Thursday, 10th of November as the $50 Opening Event offers players a "$50K+" Guarantee for the small buy-in. The event features five Day 1 flights and is played in the popular accumulator/repechage format, whereby players are allowed to play as many Day 1 flights as they like whether they bust or have already managed to make Day 2. This gives players the opportunity to amass giant stacks as all their Day 1 efforts are merged into one stack on Day 2.
The schedule is also looking a bit different than usual as the Crown Poker Room have added the likes of two low buy-in 6-Handed tournaments, one of which is played as a No Limit Hold'em/Pot Limit Omaha mix. There is also a small buy-in 7-Game mixed event along with the always popular Teams and Terminator events.
It is the Main Event that all the players are eagerly waiting for, as the $550 Main Event is again set to draw a massive crowd and award huge prize money to the eventual winner. The Main Event kicks off on November 17th and will feature 4 Day 1 flights. The popular repechage format will, as always, be in play at the JHDSS Main Event and this gives players the opportunity to buy-in to multiple Day 1 flights should they bust on subsequent Day 1's.
The last JHDSS to be played at Crown was just a few months ago and the 416 entries made for a hefty $208,000 prize pool. It was Andrew Mellado who ended up with the lion's share of that prize pool as he took down $50,128 for his big effort.
This latest installment is looking set to easily trump that prize pool as players from all around flock to Crown Casino to try and become the next Joe Hachem Deep Stack Series Champion!
