66 players have survived Day 1b at the PokerStars.net ANZPT Perth Main Event with Yu-chang Cheng leading the way as the only player from the flight with over 100,000 in chips. Many of Australia’s best hit the felt of the Burswood Casino with PokerStars Pros Tony Hachem, Eric Assadourian and Grant Levy all surviving the day with just under average chips.

Others to have a strong day included Joel “Strong Play” Dodds who continues his love affair with the ANZPT to sit in third chip position with 97,600 while APPT Sydney champ Aaron Benton came back strongly from a short stack to end the day well place with 74,900 chips. ANZPT Adelaide champ Rennie Carnevale also made it through to Day 2 with 47,550.

In total the ANZPT Perth Main Event attracted 222 players, smashing the previous record for an event in Perth of 142 players. The top 24 players will finish in the money with first place set to collect $132,750.

Play will continue for another seven levels today. It’s unlikely that play will reach the money, but by the end of the day we should be able to determine to contenders from the pretenders!
