The eagerly anticipated PokerStars ANZPT Sydney Main Event kicks off today and it promises to be one of the biggest and best events on this amazing tour.
Featuring two starting flights, the $2,200 ANZPT Sydney Main Event should attract over 400 runners with the possibility of 500 turning out. Last year’s event attracted 461 players who created prize pool of $922,000. The lion’s share of this huge sum of money found its way into the bankroll of Gordon Huntly, who picked up $148,900 for his victory.

In addition to the Main Event, there are also two other tournaments that should get your poker juices flowing. On Sunday 24 March, at 12:30, there is a $300+$30 Mixed tournament that will see players play alternate levels of no limit Hold’em and pot limit Omaha. Then later in the day, at 16:00, there is a $5,000 buy-in $5K no limit Hold’em Challenge that should see some of the very best players in the region turn out in force.
