APPT Cebu Day Main Event Day 1B: Milan Gurung Tops Second Flight

Day 1B of the PokerStars Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) Cebu Main Event has ended and Milan Gurung is the man who ended the second and final starting flight with the most chips, 99,900 of them to be exact. This means although Gurung was Day 1B’s chips leader, Day 1A’s supremo Ivan Zalac leads overall.
Gurung has plenty of live tournament cashes dating back to 2004, so it is safe to say he is an accomplished player. Gurung’s largest cash to date tops the scales at AUD$86,576, his prize for finishing second in the 2010 Sydney Poker Championship; Gurung has five additional five-figure scores to his name.
Seventy-seven players signed up for Day 1B, taking the total number of entrants to 158 and the prize pool to PHP14,099,920 (approx. AUD$335,105). This prize pool is to be shared among the top 20 finishers with the eventual champion winning PHP3,948,000 (approx. AUD$93,810).
Of these 77 entrants only 36 made it through to Friday’s Day 2, meaning when play resumes at 12:15 local time 76 players will sit down in the Waterfront Hotel and Casino.
Among those who made it through from Day 1B are Choi Young Su (88,700 chips), the man who led for most of the day Aditya Agarwal (63,900), recent World Series of Poker Asia Pacific champion Jim Collopy(38,700) and Daniel Laidlaw (34,600).
