APPT Cebu Main Event Day 2: Daniel Spence Leads the Final 25; Jim Collopy Third

Posted at 09:00 2013-05-04 by Matthew Pitt

The PokerStars Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) Cebu Main Event is down to just 25 players and it is Daniel Spence who will lead them back into battle on Saturday afternoon. Spence bagged up 260,880 chips at the end of six one-hour levels and is the man to catch in this event.

Spence seems to be a relative unknown in the poker world but that will all change if he goes all the way and takes down this prestigious event. If Spence is to be crowned champion of Cebu, he is going to be pushed all the way by a talented bunch of hopefuls that includes the likes of second placed Anthony Wright (224,500), recent World Series of Poker Asia Pacific bracelet winner Jim Collopy (200,800), a former APPT champion in the shape of Chane Kampanatsanyakorn (146,400) and Shingo Cho (151,700).

With just 20 spots paid, five of the surviving players will be leaving the Waterfront Airport Casino and Hotel without winning any cash. All they will have is memories of being part of such a great tournament and possibly some bad beat stories. Not only will the money places be reached on Saturday, but the final table of nine will also be decided.

Tune into PokerNetwork’s live coverage of the APPT Cebu Main Event from 12:15 local time to discover who bursts the bubble and who manages to progress to the final table.
