The drawcards are the AUD $15,300 High Rollers Event, the APPT Tournament of Champions and the AUD $6,300 APPT Sydney Grand Final Main Event which is sure to attract a huge field. However Star City Poker Room Manager Debra Rillo and her team have pulled out all stops to accommodate everyone with a massive preliminary schedule, perfectly designed to utilise as much of their brand new poker room as possible.
The action starts on Sunday November 22 with the first of two Pink Diamond Ladies No Limit Hold’em events. With a buy-in of $200 it’s sure to attract a sizeable field and for those who make the money, they can take the next step and pony up $550 for the second event, which will sort out the women from the girls.
For the more seasoned player, a $770 2-Card Manila event will be held before the official $1,100 Opening Event the following day, consisting of two Day 1 flights and a generous 15,000 start bank. There are also a number of other events which are sure to please, including a $1,650 Pot Limit Omaha (second chance format) event, a $2,200 NLHE/PLO Mixed Game event and a $2,700 Six-Handed event.
Star City is also lending their support to kids with cancer with a $340 charity event, with proceeds going towards Camp Quality. The $1,650 Semi Shootout/Bounty Event will provide everyone with an opportunity to take home some extra cash and some bust-out stories to tell the grandkids one day – each big name you send to the rail will earn you $300 from the prize pool.
