The 2012 Asia Championship of Poker (ACOP) is most certainly in full swing and so far the attendances have been strong, and with the higher buy-in events just around the corner PokerNetwork expects the attendance figures to grow, as some of the world’s most recognisable players head to Macau to get involved in this fantastic series. Here's a round up of events #1 through #5.
Event #1 attracted a field of 192 who were eventually outlasted by Team PokerStars Pro Raymond Wu, who will go down in history as the first-ever winner of an ACOP title event. Wu took home HKD$419,800 for his efforts over the three-days, whilst fellow Team PokerStars Pro Vivian Im came third.
Swiss player Benjamin Carmine bested a 224 strong field in the $2,000 Deepstack event, taking home the HKD$93,900 first place prize, whilst top honours in Event #3 went to Gab Yong Kim who happens to be the aforementioned Im’s partner!
Team PokerStars Pro Celina Lin had great back-to-back tournaments in Event #4 and #5. In the $1,000 Charity event Lin finished in fourth place then followed that up with a third place showing in the $1,000 Six-handed event. Those accomplishments have seen Lin climb two places to third in the Asia Player of the Year standings.
