The ever popular Asian Poker Tour Macau event is just a month away, and now is the time to get cracking if you’re keen on satelliting into the event online.

Due to take place between August 12-23, the APT Macau is one of the most popular tournaments in the Asia-Pacific region.

APT Macau Main Event package satellites have fired up this week at both Pacific Poker and Bwin Poker.

The satellites are running once a week on Pacific Poker and for the price of a US$275 buy-in players have the opportunity to win a US$6,500 package including Main Event buy-in, accommodation, and transfers. Sub-satellites into the qualifying tournament start from as little as US$2.80.

Bwin are offering US$8,000 packages in their US$300+20 buy-in satellite which runs twice a week. The Bwin package includes flights, seven night’s accommodation and the Main Event buy-in. Sub-satellites start from as little as US$2 buy-in.

Other online partners, including Party Poker, PKR and Titan Poker, are all expected to launch satellites to the Main Event in the very near future. With the plethora of online satellite options a good turn out is expected in all the events on the schedule.

The bustling under-card includes 13 designated side events ranging in buy-in between HK$2,640 and HK$8,800 (approx AU$440-AU$1,450). The lead up schedule includes a heads-up tournament, eight and six max events, a bounty tournament, a shootout, and multiple teams events.

Adding to the spectacle will be a celebrity event, boasting some of the local “celebrities”. Also on the card is the ever popular High Rollers event slated to have a HK$168,000 buy-in (AU$27,683).

On top of all of this will be daily on demand satellite and cash sit n go action. A full range of satellites will be run from the 12th of August including daily freeze-out and re-buy and add-on super satellites. In a slight twist the casino will also host cash sit ‘n gos throughout the tournament, starting from a HK$960 (AU$158) buy-in.

The Main Event itself will be a HK$34,400 buy-in (AU$5,680) run across four days of play, with two day one flights. Each player will start with 10,000 chips, and one hour blind levels, with over 400 players expected to generate a prize pool of over AU$2 million.

The APT Macau will take place at the StarWorld Hotel and Casino in Macau. Guests staying at the hotel are promised some of the most sophisticated guest rooms in Macau, overlooking some of the best views.
