In just over two weeks from December 11th – 15th, 2013, the Asian Poker Tour (APT) along with Resorts World Manila (RWM) will be running the APT-RWM Ironman Poker Challenge that will hope to set a new Guinness World Record.

In August last year, the Delaware Park Casino set the Guinness World Record for the Longest Continuous Poker Tournament in Delaware, USA with a poker tournament lasting 36 hours, 34 minutes and 11 seconds. This tournament was their second attempt at the feat and saw 192 participants create a US$100,608 prizepool with the Czech Republic’s Pete Konas capturing the title and US$27,160 for first.

The Asian Poker Tour is now aiming to break this record at the Resorts World Manila in the Philippines by running a series that is highlighted with the US$700 APT-RWM Ironman Poker Challenge. Only 250 seats are available in this potential record-making tournament with – based on these numbers – the top 18 players reaching the money with first place set to receive approximately US$40,000. Like previous Ironman tournaments, the APT-RWM Ironman Poker Challenge will be continuous until a winner is crowned with no scheduled breaks. Players are able to take breaks to rest, sleep, eat or visit the bathroom but the tournament will continue as usual with their chip stack being blinded and anted off accordingly.

If you aren’t one of the 250 that are able to compete in the APT-RWM Ironman Poker Challenge, then there are four other side events on offer over the five-day poker schedule. The series opens with a US$150 No Limit Hold’em Rebuys event before a US$300 No Limit Hold’em is scheduled for the second day. Following the start of the APT-RWM Ironman Poker Challenge, there will be a US$2,500 High Rollers and then a US$350 No Limit Hold’em to conclude the schedule.
