Aussies Online: 'rkruok' Takes 4th in UB Major

Posted at 10:06 2010-03-23

With the Full Tilt Mini-FTOPS wrapping up, many of Australia’s online players were expecting some big results over the past week, but unfortunately no new hundred-thousandaires have been made.

David ‘dasve798111’ Allan kicked off his start to the week with a first, second and third result amounting to just on $11,600 in cashes before ending the week with sixteen cashes. Brendon Rubie had a very consistent week putting up result after result – although small – noting up nineteen cashes for around $6,000.

Following a $32,000 week last week, Eoin Kennedy managed to put together a $5,000 week while also final-tabling the ANZPT Perth Main Event. ‘barcs69’ also managed to accumulate a total of $15,000 in results spread over some of the smaller sites. PokerNetwork forum frequenter Benn ‘risk2Dupside’ Skender captured the $28k GTD on Full Tilt Poker for $6,462 while the MiniFTOPS were in full swing.

Monday morning action saw two of the youngest and brightest stars simultaneously make the PokerStars $109+R final table. Jonathan ‘xMONSTERxDONGx’ Karamalikis finished in 8th place for a $10,221 score while Ben ‘CNT_CRUSHER’ Delaney collected $19,307 for his 6th place finish.

Another of Australia’s finest young players, Rayan “rkruok” Nathan and his ChipMeUp followers had another good day when he picked up 4th place in the Ultimate Bet $200k Guaranteed. Nathan picked up $13,506 for his efforts, to go with a couple of recent Mini-FTOPS cashes which will see him climb further up the Australian online poker rankings.

Just as the night began to wind up, Tim ‘TurnRiva’ Marsters added to his two PokerStars $109 $20k and $15k GTD final tables on the previous day by finishing 2nd in the $55 Nightly Seventy Grand for $11,781 to see his week yield him just over $19,000.

With the Joe Hachem Deep Stack Series now in full swing it still won’t mean a downturn in online play as many of the high-volume players will be staying behind the computer to get in their daily quota before the upcoming ANZPT Sydney later next month.
