Australia is clinging onto third place in the PocketFives.com online rankings. The players of Costa Rica, which is home to many Black Friday exiles, is hot on the heels of the Wallaby players who will need to continue SCOOPing hard to keep up.
Still at the top of the pile Down Under is brownie682. He had a reasonable last seven days the highlight being a $6,783 score in the $109 NL Hold’em with Rebuys on Pokerstars were he finished in 3rd place. He took down two tournaments during the week but both had below $10,000 prize pools. He also managed two SCOOP cashes in the medium buyin events but there is no doubt he will be out to catch a big haul before the festival finishes.
Jonathan ”xMONSTERxDONGx” Karamalikis was back onto a heavy volume online grind after his European adventures which included WPT Vienna, EPT Berlin and EPT Monte Carlo. He had two firsts including taking down the $55 NL Hold’em Turbo Double Chance on Pokerstars for $8,160. So far Karmalikis has a had three SCOOP cashes the highlight being a deep run in the $1,050 NL Hold’em for $4,913, however, with $229,000 up top he is unlikely to be deeply satisfied with this result.
WaGe N WaRz is on a charge up the Australian rankings and his cause was helped significantly this week with victory in the Pokerfest festival running on Party Poker. He took down Pokerfest #38 $55 NL Hold’em Rebuy for $17,904. The player listed as from Bendigo, Victoria is closing in fast on the magic $1 million in online lifetime tournament earnings with his total standing at $956,000.
Outside the top three, BaZa88 made a big splash with 37 cashes in the last week the standout being a virtual trophy for taking down the $25,000 GTD R/A on the iPoker Network for $7,443. Seven was the number of times aces_up4108 managed to cash for over $1,000 in the last seven days, including $6,011 for a 3rd place finish in the $215 NL Hold’em Turbo on Pokerstars. In ninth place in the rankings, tollgate had a big week taking down the $109 NL Hold’em with Rebuys on Pokerstars for $12,577 were he managed to overcome his countryman brownie682 who had to settle for third as mentioned above. On the cusp of $2 million in online lifetime tournament earnings he finished off his week with a $9,602 payout for coming third in the $55 NL Hold’em with Rebuys on Pokerstars.
