Australian Online Poker Rankings: Wakeman Leads, While Karamalikis Slips to Third

Mathew “mjw006” Wakeman finds himself sat in the number one spot of the Australian online poker tournament rankings despite going off the boil in recent weeks.
Wakeman has been in blistering form for the past couple of months so a lull in major scores was to be expected. New South Wales’ number one is also ranked fifth in the world and is a constant thorn in the side of any player who happens to be seated on his table.
Climbing into second place this week is Michael “WaGe N WarZ” Federsen whose leader board score was helped by two second place finishes. Federsen finished second in the $55 NL Hold’em Turbo at PokerStars for $5,726 and then finished as runner-up in the Full Tilt Poker Mount Rushmore tournament for an additional $5,076.
Federsen’s climb into second is at the expense of Jono “xMONSTERxDONGx” Karamalikis. The newly appointed ANZPT Ambassador for Full Tilt Poker will be determined to oust Federsen and then claim the number one berth back from Wakeman, a number one rank he had to himself for such a long period of time.
Karamalikis’ cause gained some help over this weekend when he won the $109 Sunday Rebuy for an impressive $61,529.60 and a bucketload of crucial leader board points.
Fourth place still belongs to Dean “Deanuzz” Schneider, who had a fantastic score this weekend. Schneider finished third in the Full Tilt Poker Super Sized Sunday for a cool $22,536. Had Karamalikis not had an even larger score, Schneider would be heading for third place in the Australian standings.
Rounding out the top 10 are Jesse "OnTheMac" McKenzie, Dominic "The Spewtard" Coombe, Brett "brett_Threat" Chalhoub, a new addition in Edison "googiemona" Nguyen and Michael "m_hawk_1" Hawkins.
