The Australian poker rankings have been updated and although the top 10 remain all but the same, there is a new addition the elite group of players.
Michael “PapaGreggio” Hawkins has had some impressive results in recent weeks, results that include a a fourth place finish in The Big $162 at PokerStars. In fact it was the same tournament that Hawkins almost won on Thursday, finishing second for a $15,131 score and 224.22 leader board points. No doubt Hawkins will be playing a full SCOOP schedule in the coming weeks and adding more scores to his already impressive resume.
Still number one in these rankings is the “monster donged” one Jonathan Karamalikis, who is rapidly approaching $4,500,000 in tracked online tournament winnings. That total should be surpassed in the next few weeks, especially if he continue to do things like win the $51 Hyper Turbo at PokerStars or finish third in the $54 buy-in $10k guaranteed Knockout, also at PokerStars.
There are almost 700 points between Karamalikis and his nearest rival Michael “WaGe N WaRz” Federsen. You may recall Federsen finished second in the Sunday Rebuy for a career-best score of $43,885 and bagsful of confidence. Keep your eye on Federsen as he mounts a charge for the top spot in these rankings.
Rounding out the top 10 are Matt “mjw006” Wakeman, Nurlan “Nur1ck” Boobekov, Tom “tollgate” Grigg, Andrew “FUZZBUNGLE” Hinrichsen, Dean “Deanuzz” Schneider, Alex “krasark” Givotovsky and Stevan “random.chu” Chew.
