Bradley "BaZa88" Bower jumped from 5th spot to first last week in the Australian top ten online rankings. This week he has extended his lead at the top by adding over 200 PocketFives.com ranking points to his previous total. Recent triple crown winner, Kel “aces_up4108” Beattie, held onto second place and new poker millionaire, WaGe N WaRz, climbed to third. There were two new entrants into the top ten this week as supanova99 and bazooka87 entered the rankings in 6th and 10th place respectively.
BaZa88 had another impressive week on the online felt which began when he came 3rd in the $16.50 No Limit Hold’em Turbo on PokerStars for $2,974, what was particularly impressive was that this tournament attracted 2,132 entrants. The $215 No Limit Hold’em Turbo on PokerStars attracts some of the top names in online poker and the Aussie went deep as he finished 15th for $1,098. Bower’s Sunday wasn’t finished yet and he took 5th in The PokerStars.com Bigger $162 which had a 1,471 player field claiming a whopping $10,811 for the achievement. He showed his big field skills yet again in the $22 No Limit Hold’em with one rebuy and one add-on on PokerStars where he took 6th for $1,481 in the 677 player tournament. BaZa88 had a total of 30 cashes this week in what was yet again another stellar week.
Kel “aces_up4108” Beattie took a well-deserved week off from online grinding with Las Vegas on his radar but his recent spectacular form was enough to hold his position in 2nd spot in the rankings. However, he won’t last there for long with the likes of WaGe N WaRz hovering close behind him. This grinder actually lost some rankings points this week but had a very solid outing with 31 cashes. His first four figure cash came in the PokerStars $265 No Limit Hold’em Knockout, which attracted a $70,000 prize-pool, when he finished 11th for $1,050. The $11 No Limit Hold’em with rebuys on PokerStars had 251 entrants and the Aussie finished in top spot taking it down for $2,026. WaGe N WaRz notched up a 4th in the Ongame $100 for a $1,336 payment. The highlight of his week came at the end in the $109 No Limit Hold’em Double Chance Turbo on PokerStars as he napped 4th for a healthy $3,621 score.
Outside the top three there were some fantastic results to report on. $4,142 and a virtual trophy was the reward brownie682 got for scooping the $44 No Limit Hold’em Turbo on PokerStars as he moved into 4th place in the rankings. A new entrant to the top ten, supanova99, set himself up for a big move in the rankings by winning an eye watering $25,000 in the 888 poker $100k GTD No Limit Hold’em last week and followed it up this week with yet another victory. He took down the $82 No Limit Hold’em 6 Max HyperTurbo on PokerStars for a juicy $4,369 confirming himself as a serious contender for future big moves in the Aussie rankings. Jonathan ”xMONSTERxDONGx” Karamalikis had no fewer than 6 cashes above four figures this week but still saw his position drop to 7th in the rankings. His biggest score was $10,613 for 1st place in the $109 No Limit Hold’em Turbo with one rebuy and one add-on on Pokerstars.
Karamalikis claimed another victory in the $51 No Limit Hold’em HyperTurbo again on PokerStars this time for $3,018. 8th place went to tollgate who had a super Saturday starting with a win and $5,737 in the PokerStars $55 No Limit Hold’em Turbo Double Chance. The day was capped very nicely with a 2nd place finish in the $215 Weekly 6 Max No Limit Hold’em on PokerStars for a wallet busting $8,749.
Another new entrant to the top ten is bazooka87, who set himself up for a rankings climb last week by winning $9,366 by taking down the PokerStars $215 No Limit Hold’em Turbo. This week he added another trophy to his locker and of course some cash, $3,025 to be precise, for winning the Ongame $50 No Limit Hold’em.
The competition to hold a place in the Australian top ten online poker rankings is seriously intense. There have been some huge scores this week as our grinders are making waves on the virtual felt with some of the top ten pulling in five figures in one or two tournaments alone. Bradley "BaZa88" Bower remains top of the table but with the likes of brownie682, supanova99, xMONSTERxDONGx, tollgate and bazooka87 all pulling in victories this week the rankings are sure to change quick and fast in the coming weeks.
