For the second week running there is new a number one online poker player in Australia. Bradley "BaZa88" Bower has made a huge move from 5th in the rankings to leader after a big week on the felt. He sent last week’s top-dog, aces_up4108, into second place despite later completing a triple crown over the last two weeks. There were no new entrants to the rankings this week as the top ten consolidated their positions.

BaZa88 had a massive week with his first home run coming on PokerStars in The Big $109 which had a $100k Guaranteed Prize Pool. The Aussie managed to grab 3rd spot for a $9,700 payout. The same day on May 25th he got 2nd in the $20,000 Guaranteed on the iPoker Network for $3,080. After going so deep twice he managed to win a tournament and complete a unique 3, 2, 1 by taking down the Friday $60,000 Guaranteed on iPoker for a super sweet $12,270. The next day he was hard back at it and managed another chunky score in the PokerStars $109 No Limit Hold’em with one rebuy and one add on for $7,750 for his second place finish. Feeling flush, he entered the $500 High Roller Monday on iPoker and took 4th place for $3,990. His hot streak continued near the end of the week as he took 3rd spot in the PartyPoker $10,000 Guaranteed Speed event for $1,386.

After winning a triple crown, aces_up4108 may have felt his spot at the top was secure but the fact he slipped to second demonstrates the current competitive nature of Australian online poker. He began the week with a victory in the $109 No Limit Hold’em on Pokerstars for $5,268. Any week with a win is a good one but his completion of the triple crown by winning the Ongame $100 event for $2,929 made it a great one for this Aussie. On May 25th he scored second for $3,875 in the same $109 on PokerStars he won two days earlier and also got a second in the $10,000 Guaranteed on Poker770 for $1,833. He managed to get another triple crown sweat on the cards by winning the $10,000 Speed Guaranteed on PartyPoker for $2,970. He still has a chance of winning his second triple crown is as many weeks if he manages to take down another tournament on a third poker site in the next two days.

Jonathan ”xMONSTERxDONGx” Karamalikis yet again managed to hang onto third place for another week despite a small rankings points decrease. Once again he didn’t have a lot of volume and only had 7 cashes this week down from 41 two weeks ago during the SCOOP festival. The Sunday Warmup is a $215 Major on PokerStars and attracted 2,996 players, Karamalikis went deep and managed to come 49th for a $1,138 payout. His other noteworthy score was in the $215 No Limit Hold’em Turbo Double Chance on PokerStars where he came in 3rd spot for a $5,330 return.

Outside the top three, congratulations to WaGe N WaRz who rocketed past the $1 million mark in online tournament earnings this week. His highlight came as he made 6th in the $320 Wednesday Hundred Grand on PokerStars for $5,042. Former Australian number one, brownie682, saw his status slip dramatically down to 5th but he still managed a second in the $33 with a rebuy on PokerStars for $2,896 and followed that up with a win in the $265 Knockout on Stars for $5,450. This week’s 8th place holder mjw006 had two victories online; he won on PokerStars in The Big $27.50 and defeated a monster field of 1,112 players to claim $4,859. He continued on to scoop in the $10,000 Guaranteed on PartyPoker for $2,923 giving him a triple crown sweat to work on. Another player with two wins this week was tollgate who won the $33 with a rebuy for $3,192 and then had a tasty $9,282 win on PokerStars in the $320 No Limit Hold’em 6 Max.

Some really great achievements this week for out Aussie players; Bradley "BaZa88" Bower romped to the top of the pile after several big scores, aces_up4108 won a triple crown and has another sweat on for a second, WaGe N WaRz passed the one million dollar mark in online poker winnings and mjw006 defeated some massive fields to give himself his own potential triple crown win.
