Damian Viney Takes Down the 2013 Poker Zone Cup at Adelaide Casino

The 2013 Poker Zone Cup Main Event has been played out at Adelaide Casino and it is Damian Viney who has emerged as the eventual champion. Viney picked up $28,100 for his victory.
There were 86 players who were prepared to pay $1,100 to buy into the 2013 Poker Zone Cup main event , which opened its doors on Valentine’s Day. Despite love being in the air the players locked horns and butted heads and by the time play came to an end some 14 levels after the order of “shuffle up and deal” had been given, just 17 players had chips to bag and tag.
Day 2 saw these 17 survivors return to their seats with the knowledge seven of them would be going home empty handed because only 10 places were paid. After coming so far, nobody wanted to leave Adelaide Casino with no prize money to show for their efforts, so spare a thought for Tony Gunning who was the 11th place finishers and therefore the player who burst the money bubble. Ouch!
Each of the surviving 10 players, who had reached the final table, had locked up $2,500 for their efforts – not a bad cash haul for a couple of day’s work! Eventually it was Viney and Nick Morales who were the last two players standing, but it was Viney who came out on top of their one-on-one encounter and claimed the trophy and the $28,100 first place prize for himself.
