The Shane Warne Superstack tournament has been completed and it is Dean Schneider who has emerged victorious, his victory worth a bankroll-boosting $21,355.
Prior to this huge score Schneider only had one cash on his Hendon Mob profile, a second place finish in a $310 7-Game event at ANZPT Melbourne from a couple of weeks ago. That finish bagged him $3,855, but that pails into insignificance now he has this superb result to his name.
A whole host of stars were among the 332 starters, including but not limited to Leo Boxell, Tony Hachem and the man the tournament is named in the honour or, 888 poker’s Shane Warne. Of those 332 entrants, just 72 made it through to Day 2 and they were quickly whittled down to the final table of ten during the third and final day’s play.
Schneider started the final table joint fourth in chips but he eventually found himself heads-up against Josh Foster for the title after James Daniel, John Broukoumis, James Owens, Rob Archer, Eugene Portlen, Jun Wang, Fred Tschirsch and Justin Wadsworth all came and went.
The final hand saw Foster all-in and at risk of elimination holding against Schneider’s . By the river the board read , which eliminated Foster and left Schenider to pick up the trophy, title of champion and of course, the $21,355 first place prize.
