Full Tilt Poker's MiniFTOPS XXII Under Way; Matthew "thegingerone45" Hunt Wins Event #1

Full Tilt Poker's MiniFTOPS XXII began on Sunday, April 21. The series, which boasts more than $4 million in guaranteed prize pools, features the same 38 events that made up the March FTOPS XXII series, but with one-tenth the buy-in. Several new formats are being offered, including the Irish, 5-Card Stud, and Escalator tournaments. This current series will run through Sunday, May 5, concluding with the $75 buy-in Main Event with a massive $1,000,000 guarantee.
On Sunday, Event #1 (No-Limit Irish) surpassed its $50,000 guarantee by generating a prize pool of $76,100. The $26 buy-in tournament drew a total of 3,805 entrants. After a heads-up deal, the U.K.'s Matthew "thegingerone45" Hunt emerged victorious and collected the first-place prize of $11,849.21.
Event #2 also commenced on Sunday and guaranteed a prize pool of $350,000. The $22 no-limit hold’em event consisted of 13,134 entrants vying for the $52,500 top prize. The eventual winner who walked away with the top prize was “mr_broomball."
