There was a huge collective sigh of relief when in January this year an Australian finally won our flagship event, the Aussie Millions. That man of course was the very loveable Stewart Scott. Well we here at PokerNetwork are now very proud to announce that 2009 Aussie Millions Main event winner Scott has put pen to paper and signed a deal to represent Party Poker. Scott, 37, from Queensland, made history in January 2009 when he took down the world class event and the princely AU$2,000,000 that came with it!
Scott is a former gourmet chef (that means he can cook, ladies!) who now focuses his time as a professional poker player and is a loyal member of the PartyPoker.com hosted VIP club - the Palladium Lounge. He made his debut representing the hottest online poker room at this week’s PokerNews Cup in Melbourne, where he joined up with the 17 online qualifiers who secured packages for the event. You can follow his progress and that of others through the PokerNews live reporting.
“It’s great to put pen to paper and sign-up to represent PartyPoker.com - it’s always been my site of choice,” said Scott. “I am looking forward to defending my Aussie Millions title in January and am even more excited that I will be doing this as an ambassador for PartyPoker.com with a large team of online qualifers!”
Another important part of this new deal will see Scott will be taking part in a massive Australia-wide publicity tour which will be focussing on building on his already successful land based ‘Stewart Scott Invitational’ events.
Scott is a happily married man with one beautiful daughter. He started his professional life as a gourmet chef in Adelaide. He then went onto a brief stint running a small IT business which gave him the perfect opportunity to hone his skills at online poker. He made his first impact on the Australian live circuit in 2006 where he used his skill and determination to win a satellite series at SkyCity Casino in Adelaide. He was awarded a $30,000 package for the WSOP Main Event. Stewart is a popular figure on the Australian poker circuit, and is a well known fixture at all of the events in Sydney, Melbourne and the rest of this great country. Most players highly regard him for his relaxed attitude but killer instinct at the table.
A spokesman for PartyPoker.com said, “We are delighted to have signed up Stewart as a brand ambassador leading up to the 2010 Aussie Millions. As well as being a loyal customer, Stewart is a popular member of the Australian poker community and we look forward to working together.”
PartyPoker.com will introduce qualifiers to win packages for the 2010 Aussie Millions in November.
