The PokerStars.net ANZPT Main Event is down to the final table of nine with the locals well represented with seven players still in contention but they will have a tough time ahead of them to get passed the immortal PokerStars Team Australia Pro Tony Hachem. Now with his sixth ANZPT cash in just seven events, and back-to-back final tables, the reigning ANZPT Player of the Year is now out in front again in season two with another remarkably consistent performance.

Hachem will enter the final table in fifth chip position as local mining engineer Zaffer Soemya will take a sizable chip advantage into the final day of play. Other notables to reach the final table include Aleks Lackovic and Jimmy Wong.

The day started with 30 players and raced down to the final 11 within the first three hours of play, but then took another three hours to reach the final nine as overnight chip leader Roman Konopacki and Ray Ellis missed out. Those who reached the money included Andy Kemmler (22nd), APPT Sydney champ Aaron Benton (21st), Ben Savage (20th) and Chris Evans (12th).
