The Casino Canberra is the venue for the 2012 National Poker Championships, where some of the countries best poker players will be heading to compete in the $1,100 Main Event.
Day 1 will get under way at 11:45 on Saturday 6 October and for their $1,100 players will receive a generous stack of 20,000 tournament chips and will play to a 40-minute clock. The first 10 levels will be played to the following schedule:
There is only going to be one starting flight in this tournament and the field is also going to be capped at 80 entrants so we would advise to reserve your seat now by heading to the Casino Canberra website and downloading an entry form. We do believe the poker room will be allowing alternates but obviously alternates cannot be guaranteed a seat in the tournament as the are only seated if and when a player in the tournament busts out.
The second and final day of the 2012 National Poker Championships kicks off on Sunday 07 October, again at 11:45, and will see play continue until only one player has each and every single chip in play in front of them. With an estimated prize pool of $80,000 and a small field size we should see the eventual champion walk away with around $22,000 for their efforts, which is a superb hourly rate in anyone's book!
