Ian Frazer Signed By Party Poker

Posted at 12:02 2009-06-30
Party Poker has joined the swag of online rooms forming their own team of professionals, with a slight twist. Rather then cherry picking from the ranks of established pros and landing big names to represent the online room in live events, Party is looking to promote from within its own playing ranks. Thus in line with this strategy the site announced regular player Ian Frazer as the first in a team of pros that the large online room will be looking to assemble based off play on the site.

A PartyPoker.com spokesman said, "The sponsored player and grassroots team initiative will continue to grow with all VIPs reviewed for suitability. We have seen growth in VIPs coming back to Party since our launch of the new software and continued huge strides in the VIP programme which culminated in the launch of the new Party Points Store this week".

"We are looking for players that have shown themselves to have star quality in their play but who are also fun, humorous and possess a strong character and willingness to co-operate. Our extensive international television distribution gives players the chance of brilliant exposure."

Ian 'The Raiser' Frazer has to date put together over $1.3 million in live tournament cashes. His career highlights include winning US$500,000 for taking down the 2005 UK Open and US$125,000 for winning the 2006 European Poker Open.

The London based Frazer becomes only the second ever Party Poker sponsored player behind long time ambassador and WPT commentator Mike Sexton. Team Party Poker will be assembled from the sites VIPs with an emphasis on player loyalty and historic links to PartyPoker.com. More team members are expected to be announced in the very near future.

"I am delighted to have got a deal with PartyPoker.com. I have been involved with Party since the early Poker Den days so it is a deal that makes sense. I'm looking forward to finding out who will join me" said Frazer.

As apart of his responsibilities Frazer will host a weekly invite only private tournament on PartyPoker.com, as well as blogging about life on and off the felt on the Party Poker site. He will also be sponsored into major events worldwide. Join Frazer and download Party Poker today!
