What do you get when you cross the biggest online poker room with one of the biggest names in rap music? You get one hell of a party! Pokerstars hosted the biggest party in World Series of Poker history at the Rain Nightclub in the Palms Hotel and Casino resort in down town Las Vegas.
Everybody who is anybody in Vegas at the moment was there. I’m talking celebrities from sport to entertainment and poker all crammed into the one room! The marquee part of the night was unquestionably an amazing live performance from hip-hop juggernaut Nelly. Others stars included Jordan Farmar of the LA Lakers, WWE star Torrie Wilson, along with actors Jason Alexander and Lou Diamond Phillips, joined World Series of Poker Champions Peter Eastgate, Joe Hachem, Greg Raymer and Chris Moneymaker on a glittering red carpet.
One of the most exciting things at the party was the opportunity for online qualifiers to have a chance to get up close and personal with Team PokerStars Pros. All of the big names where there including Daniel Negreanu and Barry Greenstein. The room was also jam packed with the new generation of PokerStars Pro with hot names like ElkY and Dario Minieri there at the party for most of the night.
But it wasn't just poker players and celebrities that had the Rain nightclub in a spin - disco stilt walkers were bobbling around as were delicious candy girls and did somebody say podium dancers? They were keeping things safe at all corners of the arena. Aerialists suspended high above the packed dance floor kept the crowd entertained before Nelly took to the stage and performed an epic set that spanned his greatest hits and showcased new material.
Will one of the PokerStars entourage have what it takes to win the WSOP Main Event? Who knows? But there is no question they are the hands down winners of the party circuit this year!
