"Kell Hawk222" Takes APCOOP Heads-Up Crown

Posted at 16:24 2010-11-25

The PokerStars Asia Pacific Championship of Online Poker is now in full flight as some of the mixed events are giving players an opportunity to fully test their skills against the best in the Asia-Pacific region.

Last night was Event #5 of the series with the $22 No Limit Holdem Heads-Up Event attracting a field of 269 players to create a prize pool of $5,380.

There were many notables in attendance with the field highlighted by 2005 World Champion and Team PokerStars Pro Joe Hachem. He was joined by PokerStars Team Asia Pro Bryan Huang as well as Julian Cohen, Mishel Anunu, Jesse McKenzie, Brett Chalhoub, Danny Green, APCOOP Event #4 winner “kbp00” as well as WCOOP winner Romes ‘ROMES_HOME’ Priplotski.

Unfortunately none of these would go deep with Priplotski (63rd $21.52), Huang (54th $21.52) sneaking into the money while Cohen (25th $43.04) lasted one round further.

Again it was another long haul for the final competitors as it took until 6am AEDST for a champion to be crowned as Melbourne’s “Kell Hawk222” outlasted them all to claim the title and $1,345 in prize money, defeating “ausrabbit” in the final heads-up match.
