PartyPoker in conjunction with WPT Poker - the official online site of the World Poker Tour - have gone into satellite overdrive for the upcoming double leg of the WPT tour in Europe. The decision to schedule back-to-back events in Vienna and Bratislava has proved popular with the players. Seats for the events have been selling well and the online satellite demand has been great. So great in fact that Party Poker have made the decision to extend the satellites right up to the tournament.
A PartyPoker.com spokesman said, “Last week’s main WPT Vienna online satellite attracted 108 runners and gave away five packages, while the qualifier for WPT Bratislava brought in 90 players and gave away four packages. With the clock ticking towards the end of the qualifiers we’re expecting bumper fields delivering plenty of packages for these back-to-back events.”
The brand new WPT Vienna, which will be sponsored by PartyPoker.com will be a televised leg of the tour. Those familiar with the Austrian city will be pleased to know that the €3,500 buyin event is scheduled at the Montesino Casino and will run from March 25 – 29 2011. On the undercard will be the increasingly popular high stakes event which will come with a €15,000 buyin and is scheduled for the final days of the Main Event. Both PartyPoker.com and WPT Poker are running satellites that pay out $7,000 packages. These packages include Main Event buy-in, $1,400 spending money, five nights' hotel accommodation and hospitality. Players can try their luck for free in daily freerolls in an effort to qualify for the $375 direct entry final. If that is a little rich for your bankroll, you can always play in any of the wide array of sub-satellites that qualify into the final. Final satellites for this event will be held on Monday.
After Austria attention will turn to Bratislava in Slovakia. Party Poker and WPT Poker will be running satellites for this €2,720 Main Event right through until Sunday March 20. The actual Main Event will run from March 30-April 3 and is sure to draw a bumper crowd from other continents due to the fact that PartyPoker.com is putting up $6,000 packages that include entry to the event at the Golden Vegas Casino, four night’s accommodation, hospitality and $1,000 spending money. Again players have daily freeroll options right up to a weekly $320 buyin tourney that will qualify them directly for the WPT Bratislava event.
As an extra bonus WPT organisers are putting on a shuttle for all players looking to play both events. The two events are about 45 minutes driving distance apart and all players wishing to make their way from Austria to Slovakia for the second event can take the free coach shuttle service that will be operation following the WPT Vienna.
The double-act looks set to be a great addition to the tournament schedule and surely enticing for a few Aussie players. You can download WPT Poker or download Party Poker through our links for your shot at WPT glory.
