Macau Poker Cup Red Dragon Main Event Starts Wednesday

The latest edition of the Macau Poker Cup is in full swing at the PokerStars LIVE at the City of Dreams where three events have already seen champions crowned. The biggest event is yet to take place, but those who are participating – and watching from the sidelines – do not have long to wait before the tournament director issues those magical words, “shuffle up and deal.”
Costing HK$11,000 to enter, the Red Dragon Main Event is the second most expense tournament on the Macau Poker Cup schedule. However, its guaranteed prize pool of HK$5,000,000 makes it the richest tournament on that schedule and by some distance too.
In April, the Red Dragon Main Event broke its own attendance record when a staggering 891-players bought into it, smashing the guarantee and creating a gargantuan HK$8,746,412 prize pool in the process. On that occasion, Terry Fan outlasted each and every one of the competitors to get his hands on the Red Dragon trophy and the HK$1,771,000 first place prize.
There are plenty of questions on the lips of the poker community including will Fan defend his title, can Team PokerStars Pro Celina Lin win her second Red Dragon Main Event and how large will the crowd of players be who buy into the 19th edition of the ever-popular Red Dragon. All of those questions will be answered by the end of the week, so ensure you keep checking back in to PokerNetwork as we bring you updates from the Red Dragon Main Event.
