Another beautiful Autumn day in the Harbour City saw 282 tournament junkies head to the poker room instead of enjoying the perfect day outside.

Having twenty-two alternates didn’t halt any action as we lost Martin Comer, David Gorr, Aleks Lackovic, Jonathan Karamalikis in the early goings as defending champion Paren Arzoomanian had his Kings cracked by Jacks to see him hit the rail.

Multiple WSOP Bracelet winner Jeff Lisandro was unable to generate any momentum today when he hit the rail holding top pair against Aces as the multiple Grant Levy’s – including the one and only – all made their way to the rail for an earlier than expected exit.

Once the dust had settled and the chips bagged only 138 players made it through from the day 1b flight with the top ten counts as follows.

Michael Manttan – 116,800
Patrick Woodley – 116,200
Mile Krstanoski – 112,800
Tony Hachem – 95,000
Lee Nelson – 92,700
Emanuel Seal – 88,300
Zaffer Soemya – 87,300
Alan Wilson – 81,600
Roy Hills – 77,300

Although not amounting a note-worthy stack, Ausse Millions Champions Tyron Krost (56,200) and Stewart Scott (41,900), ANZPT Queensland Champion Scott Kerr (69,200), Joel Dodds (48,800), Emad Tahtouh (38,400) and Van Marcus (26,500) all made it through to day two action.

209 players will be returning for day two action with the money being reached late in the day with PokerNetwork providing continuous live coverage from the tournament floor of the Star City poker room.
