Michael O'Grady Heads Final Table of ANZPT Sydney Main Event!

Posted at 22:17 2010-04-24

Another fantastic Autumn day in the Harbour City didn't deter poker players swarming the poker room as fifty-nine of them returned to battle it out for a piece of the $892,000 prizepool.

Play began fairly slowly with everyone hoping to sneak into the money and fade the five eliminations that were needed. A few players managed to find a double, but the unfortunate title of bubble boy would fall on PokerStars high-stakes cash game player Tian Shou who made a move holding {Tc}{5c} but was unable to outrun an opponent's Queens.

As is the custom when a Main Event hits the money, play gathers speed like the Millenium Falcon going into hyperdrive as we lost Michael Tran (52nd), Joel 'StrongPlay' Dodds (48th), Lee Nelson (47th), Antonis Kambouroglou (43rd), Yann Pauchon (41st), Sally Snow (35th), Ricky 'rickwaa' Kroesen (34th), Peter Aristidou (32nd) and Vincent 'Wonky' Wan (31st). Amazingly however Tony Hachem managed to log his seventh ANZPT cash from eight starts that also include one victory and two final tables already this season.

As was the case last night, Michael O'Grady will again be spending the night resting on his pillow with the weight of the chip lead on his mind as he carries a clear lead with 2,314,000 into tomorrows final table after soaring up the rankings following two consecutive eliminations holding Ace-King before the final break.
